Lot of 10 views from the series ''Vues de la residence ducale de Louisbourg = Underschiedliche Prospect und GrundriAugsburg, Heirs I. Wolff, (ca. 1730). Oblong folio (ca. 350 x 550 mm or 350 x 520 mm for each engraving). With 12 leaves of engravings, of which two form a bird's eye view on the estate, and two on the castle by Corvinus and Georg David Nessenthaler after designs by Frisoni. Some of the plates are numbered: 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10a, 10b, 14, 16, 17.
Series with views on the Baroque garden and palace of Ludwigsburg in Germany. The first plate (comprising two leaves) shows a bird's eye view of the garden and castle titled 'Vue et perspective du Chateau de Louisbourg'. With 3 more views of the garden a.o. the hunting lodge. Furthermore 5 plates depicting cross-sections of the interior of the courtchapel, and the logement. Good condition.- (Some browning and soiling; one plate with tear). Himmelsglobus bearbeitet von Robert Henseling.(Berlin), D. Reimer (E .Vohsen), (ca. 1915). Diameter 21 cm. On wooden stand (ca. 14 cm). Overall height ca. 35 cm. Celestial globe made up of twelve lithographed gores showing the stars and zodiac signs in black and the zodiac names in red.
Dietrich Reimer (1818-1899) was a major European manufacturer of terrestrial globes in the second half of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century. The firm Verlag Dietrich Reimer (Dietrich Reimer Publisher) was founded in Berlin in 1845. Reimer retired in 1891 and the company continued under the leadership of E. Vohsen until 1919 when it was converted into a corporation. In the second quarter of the 20th century, the Reimer corporation continued to be a prolific maker of a variety of globes, largely for school use, until about the 1960s. In good condition.- (Restored).

The globe is housed in a original moveable tripod wooden stand (ca. 83 cm) with contemp. coloured engraved horizonring with 2 (of 3) small wheels underneath. Overall height ca. 105 cm. Terrestrial globe made of 12 contemp. coloured engr. gores, with brass meridian and hour circles.
Large terrestrial globe belonging to the first globes produced by the Smith firm, containing all the latest discoveries and geographical improvements, also the tracks of the most celebrated circum navigators, and those observed to and from various parts of the world, at the different seasons of the year. The oldest globes from the Smith firm date from the 1830s. The present globe contains a large number of sea routes, not only the tracks of travels of exploration, all supplied with names and dates, but also the usual trade routes, such as the "Track of Vessels to the West Indies". Moreover, several landroutes and roads on the continents, mainly in Africa and Asia, are drawn in. The globe represents the situation of about 1830: the USA and Mexico were separated at the south-west by the "Boundary Settled in 1819", between Oregon and California, California and adjacent states being ceded by Mexico in 1848 only, and more to the east by the Red River and Arkansas, Texas becoming an independent state in 1836. In reasonable condition.- (Restored, esp. the horizonring, with loss of text; legs of stand rest. of which one with screws; wheel of one stand broken off; lacking compass at bottom of stand?).

Etched double-page title by Romeyn de Hooghe, and 32 engr. double-page maps by I. Stemmers after Heyman van Dijck and A. Steyaart, with fine etched cartouches by Jan and Caspar Luyken, all in beautiful contemp. colouring.
First and only edition of this splendid cadastral atlas. In 1695, the 'Landen van Voorne' commissioned the surveyor Heyman van Dijck to map the territory of Voorne (South Holland). Romeyn de Hooghe was requested to decorate the maps, but would eventually only execute the title-page, a typical example of his rich allegorical imagery, decorated with the coats of arms of the administrators of Voorne, with the arms of the 'Opperdijkgraaf', Jacob Frederik baron van Beyeren van Schagen, prominently placed in the centre. Jan and Caspar Luyken adorned the highly detailed maps with the coat of arms of the region depicted, often against the background of a rustic scene.
